Last night I was telling Josh about our adventures at the commisary earlier that day. Ethan was in a terrific mood, as was I, and we became quite the people magnet. SIX people in the produce section alone stopped to talk to us (then I stopped counting because it was getting too absurd)... and not just a quick, "Oh, what a happy baby," but long life stories about their kids and grandkids. I had no where to be, and Ethan was thoroughly enjoying all the attention so I listened... and listened, and was blessed by their kindness.
At the end of my tale, Josh asked, "Why does no one ever do that when I'm with him?" I at first said I wasn't sure, then I started cracking up.
"Josh, when have you ever taken Ethan out by yourself?"
"I don't know, but I'm sure I have!"
Nope. Never has. He drove him to church once... and met me there. Hilarious husband. Anyway, I think he now NEEDS to take this kid grocery shopping and to the post office so he can see what an adventure running errands with a baby is. I'm thinking he might not appreciate what I do appropriately enough since he's never done it. ;) Once when I really needed a break, I asked him to take Ethan with him to the store, and Josh asked about 7 times before he left, "Do you reaaaaaaaaaaaallly want me to take him?" "YES." Every time, "YES." And so Josh stalled around until it was naptime and then the babe couldn't tag along.
Hilarious, I tell you, hilarious!
